The ad hoc House committee on tax reform will meet for its second meeting at 11 a.m., Sept. 13, and likely will hear from state agencies on the impact of various tax reform alternatives. The meeting will be in the Blatt building on the Statehouse grounds.
On Aug. 30, the committee met and heard about the state’s General Fund from Frank Rainwater, executive director of the S.C. Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office, and from economist Rebecca Gunnlaugsson on fiscal stability in the Palmetto State. Also this week: An interesting news release from the state Commission on Higher Education.
